Invoice date (DF) or end of month (DFFM)

With 30 days from invoice date you count 30 calendar days from the invoice date: an invoice dated 10 March is due on 9 April. With 30 days end of month (DFFM in Italy) you first go to the end of the invoice month and then add the months: the same invoice is due on 30 April.

For 60 and 90 days end of month, common practice counts whole months: a March invoice at 60 days end of month is due on 31 May. The calculator follows this rule.

The fixed payment day

Many companies pay on a fixed day of the month, such as the 10th or 15th. If the calculated due date falls after that day, payment moves to the fixed day of the following month. Enter it in the optional field and the calculation takes it into account.

Legal maximum terms in Italy

Between businesses the standard term is 30 days; parties can agree a longer one, which as a rule does not exceed 60 days unless expressly agreed and not grossly unfair (Legislative Decree 231/2002). Late-payment interest runs after the due date. If a client is late, send a payment reminder.
