Cash flow software for Italian SMEs: how to choose
There are four ways to know how much you can spend in the coming weeks. They differ in cost, time and starting data. Here they are side by side.

The four options
| Option | Where the data comes from | Good for | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Excel sheet | You type it in | Few invoices and time to spare | Needs updating every week; formula errors go unnoticed |
| Accounting software | The ledger | Companies that already have a treasury module | Built for the accounts office, not for a quick answer to the owner |
| Bank-connected tools (for example Agicap) | Bank account movements plus integrations | Companies with several accounts or entities and a finance lead | Spending must be categorised and the forecast set up: it takes time at the start |
| CassaChiara | Italian e-invoices (XML, .p7m, tax-drawer ZIP or Fatture in Cloud) | Small companies and accounting firms that want the answer in minutes | Payroll, F24 taxes and costs without an invoice are added separately |
The question to ask first
Not "how many features", but: how many minutes until I know whether the account goes negative in the next 90 days? In Italy every invoice already goes through SDI with amount and due date: the forecast data is already there.
What CassaChiara does
- Load the invoices from the tax drawer, or connect Fatture in Cloud in one click.
- Type today's balance.
- At the top you see "What to do today": how much you can spend today without going negative in the next 90 days and, if you will, the day, the gap and who to chase, with the email already written.
Your invoices stay on your device (how we protect data).
FAQ
Which cash flow software suits a small Italian company?
It depends on where the data lives. Italian invoices are electronic, so a tool that reads them directly saves retyping due dates. If you need real-time bank movements across several entities, a bank-connected tool fits better.
Do I need to connect my bank account?
Not to know when the account will go negative: today's balance and invoice due dates are enough. CassaChiara does not ask for bank access: you type the balance yourself.
How much does CassaChiara cost?
Free up to 50 invoices. The Business plan is 29 EUR a month + VAT and the Firm plan for accountants is 149 EUR a month + VAT, with a 14-day trial and no card.
